Update - Portion of N Williamson Ave will remain closed until Friday, March 23 for Construction Work

Due to weather delays, N Williamson Ave will remain closed until Friday, March 23 to allow for milling and repaving of the road where the construction occurred.

Elon, NC (March 8, 2018) – Contractors for Elon University will close a portion of North Williamson Avenue starting Saturday, March 17 thru Wednesday, March 21 for construction work. The closure will allow for a water and sewer line to be extended across the roadway to serve McEwen Dining Hall.

The closure will occur on N Williamson Ave from Haggard Ave to Lebanon Ave and will be a 24/7 closure. This section will reopen once the work is complete. A detour will be in place to guide traffic around the closure along W Trollinger Ave.  Sidewalk along the front of the businesses on N Williamson Ave will remain open. Certain times during the scheduled closure, the sidewalk in front of Elon University’s Communications Building and McEwen Dining Hall will need to be closed. Additionally, the sidewalk in front of Elon Community Church will be closed at times as well. The sidewalk closure is to ensure the safety of pedestrians as work is being conducted.
